Woodcutters Pass isn't for beginners or the light-hearted the 6-mile run is vigorous and filled with rocky terrain which includes large boulders. Vehicles must be 4-wheel drive, and have ample clearance, a winch or heavy-duty jack is recommended. This trail is perfect for those who enjoy rock crawling and aren't emotionally attached to their vehicles. Along the trail old vehicles can be seen, left behind after failing to overcome the pass. Woodcutters Pass is located inside the Barry M. Goldwater Range and you will need a permit to access the area. (permit is free)
